A member of staff from Covers Timber & Builders Merchant in Brighton has raised £1,250 for Cancer Research UK after organising a Christmas raffle.

Gareth Young, who works in the internal sales team at the company, organised the raffle in support of a close friend, who is sadly suffering from cancer.

Covers’ generous suppliers contributed a variety of prizes, including a wooden gate and a darts board. Raffle tickets were available to customers and staff in return for voluntary donations.

Gareth said:

“I wouldn’t have managed to achieve this fantastic target for Cancer Research UK without the support from our generous customers, staff and suppliers. It has been a tough year for everyone, so to receive as many donations as we have is outstanding. I couldn’t be more proud of our industry and grateful to my manager at Covers for making it all happen.”
