Covers raises an incredible £30,500 for local hospices

Covers Timber & Builders Merchant in Chichester has helped to raise more than £30,500 for local hospices including St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Chichester.

The company, which is based on Quarry Lane, hosted its fourth annual Help for Hospices week in September, pledging £20,000 of its own money to kick-start the campaign as well as donating £5 for each registered customer that made a purchase during the event. Alongside this, funds were further bolstered through the sales of cakes from its popular Builders’ Bake Off activity, and charity raffle tickets.

The Grand Raffle, which was drawn by celebrity and television star, Christopher Timothy, included a top prize £500 voucher to spend on a holiday sponsored by Loyalty Works. The lucky winner was announced as Jeanie Simpson.

Rupert Green, Chairman at Covers, said:

“We are once again overwhelmed with the incredible support we have received for our annual Help for Hospices week. We would like to thank everyone who helped raise much needed funds for the essential work that our local hospices provide to the community. I am sure the money will make a big difference.”
