Covers sponsors Amberley Museum’s 40th Anniversary event

Covers Timber and Builders Merchants was pleased to sponsor Amberley Museum’s recent Craft Weekend at which a new children’s play station was opened in its Railway Exhibition Hall.

Opened by project sponsor, Dianne Griffith, and the museum’s curator, Julia Edge, the new interactive installation is the result of months of hard work by volunteers. The aim was to create a representation of Polar Bear – the museum’s narrow gauge steam engine – which children could use, ‘steam up’ and ‘drive’ while being assisted with a video.

Covers, which has its head office in Chichester, donated funding to help publicise the Craft Weekend, which was held on the 40th anniversary of the opening of the museum.

Graham Duxbury, Executive Trustee of Amberley Museum, said:

“Many thanks to Covers for its generosity in sponsoring our Craft Weekend and helping us celebrate our 40th anniversary in style. The children’s station has been open for a few weeks and is already a popular attraction with our younger visitors. They are really enjoying using it and making the most of the new area.”

Henry Green, Managing Director of Covers, added:

“We are delighted to have helped Amberley Museum celebrate its 40th anniversary and support the Craft Weekend. We hope that the new play station is enjoyed by children visiting the museum for many years to come.”
