How to install Softwood Decking

Keep the decking flat to avoid warping

Prepare and clear the area, if required, lay a membrane down first

Measure and mark the required length for the frame and then cut and treat the ends of the cut wood

Mark the placement for the joists and lay the frame out in the desired area

Screw the sides and joists together

Check the corners are square, get the frame level and mark the first post

Cut the first post to size and install it

Mark the second post making sure the frame is level

Cut the second post and install it. Repeat this step for the last two posts. Double-check the frame is level

Measure the top allowing for 25mm overhang, treat the cut ends

Cut mitre joints if required for fascias

Starting from the front, lay the decking, use the required spacers

Measure and swap the final piece, if cutting is required
